Shankar IAS Academy founder D Shankaran commits suicide at Chennai residence

The Founder and CEO of Shankar IAS Academy, Shankar Devarajan has been found dead at his residence. On Thursday, the 45-year-old professor’s body was found at his residence in Chennai’s Mylapore.

Shankar Devarajan committed suicide allegedly due to personal reasons. The professor was rushed to St. Isabel’s hospital in Mylapore, late on Thursday night, where he was declared dead. Later, his body was taken to Royapettah Government Hospital for post-mortem.

Shankar Devarajan was CEO and Founder of Shankar IAS Academy, which is a renowned civil service coaching institute in Tamil Nadu. Devarajan, who hails from Krishnagiri, had started this institute in 2004. The Shankar IAS Academy is located at Anna Nagar, Chennai. Shankar IAS Academy has a national repute for churning out hundreds of officers, who are now placed in different states in the country. Shankar IAS Academy was the first in Tamil Nadu which aimed to train IAS and IPS aspirants.
