Nepal Shook by Frequent Blasts, Ambience of Terror in Nepal
The election campaigns are undergoing severe chaos across the regions of Nepal. Earlier, several incidents of bombing had taken place throughout the western regions of Nepal. Recently, a venue of a public gathering led by Maoist chief Pushpa Kamal Dahal victimized of sudden blasts.
Nepal has been rocked by numerous small and large bombings across the nation. There are numerous cases of blasts across the country during the campaign gatherings of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba in Dang district and of K P Oli, the prime ministerial applicant from the Left Alliance in the capital Kathmandu. The frequent blasts and bombings have created an ambience of terror and horror across the nation.
The initial chapter of polling for electing a federal and seven provincial assemblies underneath the two-year-old constitution held on November 26. A total of 65 % votes have been cast for 37 parliamentary and 74 provincial legislature chairs. The second round of voting i.e the ultimate round has been scheduled for December 7. The parliament of Nepal consists of 275 seats, 165 of the total seats would be decided by direct voting and the remaining seats would be decided as per the procedure of proportional representation.
The Election Commission has expressed their concerns and dissatisfaction over the Government for such unfortunate incidents and their inability to ensure the improvement of this situation. Till date, a policeman had lost his life and dozens of common people including a candidate of Nepali Congress had been victimized by frequent bombing attacks across the regions of Nepal. Sources from the Home Ministry have informed, the Police have arrested hundreds of outsiders for smuggling explosives from different places.
