Indian American Student Begs Guilty For Commencing Cyber Attack On U.S. Varsity

Recently, an Indian American student had confessed his involvement in a massive cyberattack on a Computer Network of U.S. University.  The officials have remarked that the offender had pleaded for his guilt and acknowledged that he had launched the massive attack by creating a giant botnet that paralyzed the Internet.  The Department of Justice also recalled of Paras Jha, 21, from New Jersey together with two others named Dalton Norman, 21, from Louisiana and Josiah White, 20, from Pennsylvania, who had launched a similar cyber attack with the help of two separate botnets in 2016.

In his official statement, Acting U.S. Attorney William Fitzpatrick remarked that the Indian American student, Paras Jha had confessed his involvement for several hacks of the Rutgers University computer system.  He also remarked that the massive attack had stopped the server that was being used for communicating with faculty, official staffs and students.  The server was also been used to announce course works, assignments or submissions. Mr Fitzpatrick remarked that the massive attack had paralyzed the server for a few days and nastily affected the learning process for thousands of students from Rutgers University.

Paras Jha also had confessed to violation of the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act in a previous guilty plea in front of U.S. District Judge Michael Shipp of Trenton federal court in New Jersey.  As per the documents of the court, he had launched several cyber attacks on the networks of Rutgers University in between November 2014 to September 2016. The cyber attack had affected the communication process at the university and caused a remarkable damage to the university.  On December 8, Paras Jha together with two other offenders had pleaded their guilt for violating the Computer Fraud & Abuse Act.
