Hollywood actor Demi Moore was raped at the age of 15 in her home, she revealed in a television interview.
The man paid her mother $500, the 56-year-old told Good Morning America while discussing her memoir, “Inside Out”. Moore recounts that when she came home one day she found an older man in her apartment. He raped her after her own mother sold her to him.
“It was rape. And a devastating betrayal, revealed by the man’s cruel question: how does it feel to be whored by your mother for $500?” she writes in her book, Guardian reported.
Moore has an abusive and traumatic childhood. Her mother was an alcoholic and would take her daughter to bars to get men to notice her.
Asked if she believed the man, she said: “I think, in my deep heart no. I don’t think it was a straightforward transaction. But she still did give him the access, and put me in harm’s way.”
Moore starred in blockbuster movies including Ghost, A Few Good Men and Indecent Proposal. She has three daughters with her ex-husband, actor Bruce Willis.
