KARACHI: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Wednesday indicted three men for killing Muttahida Quami Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) leader Ali Raza Abidi.
According to details, the three men were produced in court and charged with the former MQM-P MNA’s murder. The suspects refused to plead guilty to the crime to which the court postponed the hearing of the case till November 30 when witnesses will be called to testify.
The court has declared four suspects in the case, namely Hasnain, Bilal, Ghulam Mustafa aka ‘Kaali Chiran’ and Faizan as absconders. The court has issued permanent arrest warrants for these suspects.
According to police, the suspects were given Rs800,000 to murder Abidi. After committing the crime, they burned the motorcycle that was used in Abidi’s murder.
Abidi was killed on December 25 last year in a drive-by attack outside his residence at Khayaban-e-Ghazi in DHA, where gunmen opened fire on his vehicle and sped away. He suffered shots in the head and the neck as soon as he got out of his car.
